random life activation benefit #9 – go confidently in the direction of your dreams

 - Henry David Thoreau

What dream have you been putting off?

Isn’t it eating away at you day after day, this precious dream living there inside of your heart unfulfilled?  I too was there.  3 years ago, I was working 3 different jobs, 60 hour work weeks, just to make ends meet.  Mind you, I enjoyed my jobs, working in a high-end clothing store, a 5-star salon and spa, and as the door girl at a hip night spot.  But every day I dragged myself out of bed, knowing that the day and night ahead of me was not likely to include any time spent doing the things that bring me the most joy, the things that bring out the unique gifts that I came into this world to share.  I wanted to make music.  I wanted to sing.  I wanted to make jewelry.  I wanted to help people find their passions, live them, and make a huge impact in this ever-changing world.

Today, I look back at where I was and I’m grateful that I’ve come so far down such a fulfilling path.  Not only have I had the confidence to follow my dreams, record music, start a jewelry business with my sister, work with different music producers, and be the best person I can possibly be in this life, I’ve also travelled the world learning the best healing and empowerment modalities available on the planet.  And the biggest gift I can give is helping to awaken that confidence in others, through a session I offer called Life Activation.

Not only have I had great personal results after having the Life Activation, I’ve also seen my friends, family, and clients transform their own lives and have the confidence to achieve their dreams, from initiating a long-awaited music project, to starting a new business venture, starting a new healing practice, taking up a new study, moving to a new city, and more!

Check out what some of my clients have experienced after their Life Activation session:

“The Life Activation had a great impact in my life.  I found more freedom and confidence to start going into another direction and following my life purpose.”

-Jacqueline, Insurance Consultant, Cape Town, South Africa

“At age 54, I even decided to go for my dream to be a midwife, a passion I have put off for many, many years. I will graduate when I am 60 and I feel like I’m 25. It was like opening a door to my soul!”

-Lynde, Wine farm owner, midwife-in-training, Cape Town, South Africa

BIG LOVE and BIG DREAMS,

Your heart is a compass for joy

follow your heart's call...

“With my body as my temple / My life as my prayer

I’m living my life / I’m giving my life

To take my place in the infinite plan

With my heart that guides me / Passion that drives me”

- lyrics from “Osiris” by twindragon

I am grateful that I’ve always had the ability to rouse enough courage to follow my heart.  At the moment, I’m sitting in Cape Town, South Africa, where my heart led me nearly 2 years ago.  And in a few short weeks, I will be packing up my life and my skills into a few suitcases and flying off to another adventure on the west coast of the US.  But this isn’t the first time I’ve moved far and away.  With San Diego as my home town, I’ve packed up my suitcases and moved my life and perspective to LA, Orange County, Seattle, NYC, Hawaii, and now Cape Town.

Yes, some day I will settle down, and will be happy when that day comes.  But I wouldn’t trade stability over the last 15 years since I left home for college at the tender age of 17, for the insights I’ve gained, connections I’ve made, and the opportunities for profound transformation on the journey of knowing myself.

My decision to move came suddenly.  Like many people on the planet at this time, I’ve been going through some intense shifts and changes.  So many things are shedding and falling away to reveal what is true, real, and raw.  This decision came with such a powerful knowing in my heart. As I’m always preaching “follow your heart!”, “follow your passion!”, “do what you love!”, there was no way I could ignore what my heart was telling me.  I have to follow my own advice!

time for a new direction…

On hearing the news that I’m moving on to my next adventure, I’ve had some friends say to me, “I’m sorry things didn’t work out for you in Cape Town.”  But what’s there to be sorry about?  I had an amazing journey, I’ve loved, lived in one of the beautiful cities in the world with one of my best friends in the whole wide world, felt the elements with such powerful intensity, experienced incredible personal alchemy, made new beautiful friends, helped build a community of people who are passionate about changing the world, discovered powerful skills and magick I didn’t know I even had, and came out a stronger, more passionate, and more determined person than I have ever been before!  If that’s not a superhero’s journey, what is?

It’s so easy to get comfortable and it’s so easy to just say “follow your heart”. It does take real courage to face the massive shifts one must make to truly follow where your heart leads.  It takes real courage to embrace the inevitable uncertainty of following a new path in life.  But when we can do this, and do this for a lifetime, we will live our lives filled with JOY.  This one thing, I know for certain!
