Across the seas, I have two incredible sisters, a beautiful mom, and an inspiring fairy-godmother who are so dear to my heart. I have always been surrounded by the most amazing girlfriends, who are all now spread across the globe, in Seattle, San Diego, LA, London, New York and wherever else their adventures are leading them. Since I’ve moved to South Africa in 2009 and started a whole new life, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some new girlfriends while being enveloped in the rich and ancient goddess potential of the African continent.
But now with my mom & god-mom, my sisters, and my closest girlfriends all on other continents, I’ve been missing the camaraderie of the sisterhood I’ve been accustomed to, this ever present nurturing energy in my life. Beyond just getting together more often with other women and having “a girl’s night out”, I’ve been dreaming of taking it a step further and creating a women’s circle, a goddess group, to gather together the women in my life and open the circle for all of us to re-awaken our divine feminine spirit.
Inspired by my sister goddesses, goddess Samantha in Florida, goddess Eiko in Japan, and goddess Shauna in California, I’ve finally taken the little courageous step forward to call out to the women in my Capetonian tribe to go on this journey with me. As we are in the beautiful gem of Cape Town, known as the Mother City, I’ve decided to call it Mother City Goddess Temple. As you cannot tap into goddess energy without honoring the spirit, the sacred, and the divine, I’d like to offer up our gatherings as a temple, a sacred time and space, where we create our own spiritual practice through exploring, awakening, and feeling into our unique feminine qualities.
I know this is going to be a profound learning process for me and all involved! I’m honored to be able to begin this process of opening and facilitating this circle, as the goddesses and the circle itself will be our greatest teacher. It’s my soul’s wish to be a catalyst for the re-awakening of the ancient goddess energy in each other and in Africa through our work together.
